ICC Medical Committee

The International Cricket Council's Medical Committee acts as an expert consultant to the ICC on all medical and science issues affecting international Cricket.

Medical Committee meetings will be competent:


  • To discuss and consult on cricket specific sports science and sports medicine
  • To carry out approved research into medical and health topics which are of continuing relevance to international cricket
  • To formulate recommendations to the Chief Executives' committee which relate to any medical issues affecting international cricket

Examples of current issues and research being currently undertaken include:


  • Extreme heat research to assist with developing an Extreme Heat policy
  • Medical position on Anti Doping issues
  • Protocol for illegal bowling action
  • Player workload and injury prevention
