Every year two groups of players from the EAP region are invited to attend Cricket Australia's Centre of Excellence in Brisbane. The groupsare an Emerging Players Squad and a High Performance Squad who each utilise a week of state of the art facilities and high quality coaching.
The Region also provides an EAP team to compete against the best Country cricketers from each Australian State in the Australian Country Cricket Championships (ACCC). The team is selected after the EAP Squad Camp. EAP has been competing in the ACCC since 2004. An EAP Umpire is also selected each year to represent the region at the event.
To assist each of the countries in the EAP region with Coach/Umpire Education and High Performance State/Province Partnerships have been formed with Australian and New Zealand state and provincial cricket associations. They have been running since 2002. Representatives from the States and Provinces travel to countries for 1-2 weeks a couple of times each year to assist with coaching and developing new participation strategies
Every year the EAP office coordinates a Used Cricket Equipment Drive as part of the Boxing Day Test. In conjunction with Melbourne based charity Cricket4Kids, Cricket Victoria and the Melbourne Cricket Club the EAP set up a cage at the MCG to collect equipment which is then sent out to each of the countries.
