The ACC have and always will do all it can to educate and train people from all over the Asian region.
2009 has been identified as the year to implement more focus and encouragement on junior and school cricket structures in all Member countries.
If countries already have the structure in place, the aim is to raise the quality of these programmes. The ACC Development Officers will be working and keeping a close eye on how this system develops.
Apart from running coaching, curator and umpiring courses, participants who perform well are given the incentive to be sent over to Test-playing countries to better their skills and learn from the best in the Asian region.
The ACC is looking to appoint coaching and umpiring educators to conduct a level ' 0' course in its own countries. This will help to broaden the base of cricketing knowledge in the respective countries.
As a development body the Asian Cricket Council is dedicated to creating new opportunities for cricket, and improve standards opportunities for all those currently involved with the game outside the test-playing countries.
The ACC Development Officers: Aminul Islam, Venkatesh Prasad, Rumesh Ratnayake and Iqbal Sikander make country visits and oversee development activity.
