The ICC Cricket World Cup is the biggest prize in the sport. Hosted once every four years, the event first took place in 1975. To date, there have been nine editions of the ICC Cricket World Cup, with Australia capturing the title a record four times. It has won the last three editions of the event in 1999, 2003 and 2007.
