Fans in India get the chance to see WT20 trophy
Reliance Mobile, the 'Global Partner' for ICC World Twenty20, West Indies 2010, hosted a series of special previews last week of the glittering silver ICC World Twenty20 trophy at as many as six different popular spots within Pune, a city on the western coast of India.
Pune is around 140 kms away from Mumbai by road and this is the first time that the trophy is being brought to Pune for the cricket loving fans to actually experience the trophy in person.
The trophy was first displayed at the Reliance Communications office in Pune for the benefit of the Employees, High Networth customers, KROs, Reliance Mobile Stores owners & distributors. On this occasion key distributors and retailers from Pune were also felicitated and also given this unique opportunity of clicking their photographs with the ICC World Twenty20 trophy. The entire ambience was electric with the trophy being the focus of everyone's attention.
Later the trophy was then taken across the city on a branded canter with bikers in a rally. The road show created a huge buzz as crowds excitedly inquired about the trophy and other details about the tournament. The rally route moved towards the most happening points within the city such as Zafran -- a fine dining restaurant; Multiplexes such as Gold Inox & E Square; the Mariplex Mall, along the popular F C Road, etc. Full security was given to the trophy with a posse of private security guards and also from the local police teams. A special "wall" was created for fans to express their best wishes to their favourite players and teams.
The MCs kept the fans engaged with quizzes on past editions of the ICC World Twenty20 and those who got the correct answers were rewarded with Reliance Mobile & the ICC event branded t-shirts. Cricketing fans were all excited as they also clicked the pictures of the trophy as well as themselves with the trophy.
